Dementia lifestyle support

Still themselves. Still living well.

A dementia diagnosis changes things — but it doesn't change who a person is. We build support around the individual: their history, their pleasures, their pace.

Support that starts with the person, not the condition.

Good Grace Companions who work in dementia support are trained in person-centred approaches that prioritise dignity, familiarity and calm. We don't arrive with a programme. We arrive with curiosity — about who this person is, what they've loved, and what still brings them joy.

Whether someone is in the early stages of memory loss or living with more advanced dementia, we adapt. Our role is to reduce anxiety, encourage engagement and make each visit feel like a natural, welcome part of the day.

Included
01

Reminiscence & life story work

Conversations, photographs, music and objects that connect to a person's past. Reminiscence is not just pleasant — it's therapeutic, grounding and often a gateway to moments of real clarity and warmth.

02

Music & sensory engagement

Music reaches parts of the brain that other approaches cannot. We use familiar songs, gentle rhythm and sensory activities to lift mood, reduce agitation and create moments of genuine connection.

03

Meaningful daily activity

Purposeful activity — tending plants, baking, sorting, creating — supports cognitive engagement and a sense of contribution. We follow the person's lead, never forcing, always encouraging.

04

Calm companionship & reassurance

Sometimes the most valuable thing is simply a steady, familiar presence. We offer unhurried time, patient conversation and the kind of reassurance that helps someone feel safe and settled in their day.

Informed, warm and unhurried.

Dementia support done well is invisible. It just feels like a good day.

We work closely with families to understand the person before we begin. What were their routines? What music did they love? What topics light them up? This background shapes every visit.

We also support family members and carers — offering a reliable, trusted presence that gives them time to rest, knowing their loved one is in good hands.

Our approach is non-clinical and non-institutional. We bring warmth, patience and genuine interest — and we leave each visit having tried to make it a good one.

Let's talk about what would help.
